This is a newly acquired Whip-o-Lite shade (April 7, 2019) that I chose to display simply for its total mystery. I know of at least one other collector that has one, but there is absolutely no known information as to when it was made, or to any design number available for it at this time. It is definitely made from Whip-o-Lite shade paper, but that's about all that is really known about it.
I would guess that it was made sometime between 1950 and 1956. The sales of Aladdin lamps were far past their glory days by this time and the production of shades for them was following the same path as the lamps themselves. The production of Whip-o-Lite shades ceased in 1956 and to my knowledge there are no sales brochures that illustrate the shades after 1949, or possibly 1950.
While some people are aware of this style of shade, they are not familiar with its year of production or its design number. If you would have any written literature or information supplying the year of production and design number for it I would greatly appreciate it if you would kindly let me know its history.
