This is the Aladdin 10 1/4 Red Venetian Art-Craft vase lamp. The red paint is applied to the inside of the clear glass vase and then fired to make the paint adhere to the glass. The gold trim on the base and the three large toes (feet) is applied by hand after the lamp has cooled. You can see with this lamp how hard it is to photograph some of the vase lamps. It's like trying to photograph a mirror. Mirrors are just pieces of glass with highly reflective backgrounds applied and some vase lamps are very close to being exactly that.
