1230A

Vintage green glass Aladdin oil lamp with brass burner on a lace doily and wood background.

Aladdin No. 1230A Green Alpha Art Glass vase lamp. The solid green base color was painted on the inside of a clear vase then fired to fuse the paint. A contrasting dark green band was also applied to the base. Like all the Alpha Art Glass vase lamps, it stands on six small toes (feet) that protrude from the bottom of the base. 1934-35

1231U

Vintage pale yellow decorative lamp with brass top on lace cloth and wooden background.

Aladdin No. 1231U Pale Yellow vase lamp. Unlike the other Alpha Art Glass vase lamps, its pale yellow paint is fused on the "outside" of the vase rather than the inside. The contrasting brown band was hand applied, and on this particular lamp has a very distinctive textured finish. The textured finish has been found on other examples as well, but examples also exist with a smooth, rather than textured, finish to the band.  1934-35

Aladdin No. 1245 Peach (Tan) Venetian Art Craft vase lamp. The designation for this lamp can be somewhat confusing because it describes two lamps that look remarkably different from each other. A good look at them can raise interesting questions. 1931-32

1247

Tall, glossy red glass oil lamp with a brass burner top on a wooden surface and background.

Aladdin No. 1247 Red Venetian Art Craft vase lamp While designated only as a 1247 Venetian art craft vase lamp this model comes with a twist. In addition to the red paint fused on the inside of the vase, this example has an iridescent finish that was hand applied to the outside of it. The iridescent finish produces a rainbow effect when light hits it at just the right angle. 1931-32

1247 Straw

Red Venetian table lighter with gold perforated top on a lace cloth and wooden background.

Aladdin No. 1247 Red Venetian Art Craft (Straw) vase lamp. The red paint is fired on the inside of the vase, with the gold accent on the lower rim on the outside and it also has a hand-applied straw design on the outside as well. Since the straw pattern is hand-applied, each lamp's design is entirely a "one of" creation. No two lamps are ever the same.  1931-32
