This is the 10 1/4 inch Peach (Tan) Venetian Art Craft vase lamp. There is no doubt about the peach color on this particular one.
Okay, so if the peach colored lamp at the top is a Peach Venetian Art Craft vase lamp--what is this one? Is this the Tan? They sure don't look a lot alike, but they do have the same designation in the "Price Guide and Collectors Manual #24."
I have a little problem with two lamps being so drastically different being considered only color variations of the same lamp. For one thing one is peach, while the other of course is tan, but that's not the only difference in these two lamps.
The color design on the peach is just shades of "one color". The color scheme on this lamp is definitely variegated containing at least three different colors mixed in with the lamp's base color. The colors are blue, red, and black, with no hint of the peach color in the entire lamp.
In my own opinion the color pattern on the tan lamp should be considered more of a "Variegated tan" like its 12 inch relative, rather than being grouped with the peach vase lamp. These two lamps are not close enough in color or pattern to be considered equals, or simple color variations.
The blue dot in this photo designates the area where blue is present, while the red dot designates an area of red. The glare diminishes the red to a degree but it's there as are areas of black in some of the other areas on the vase. This is not the most pronounced pattern I have seen on this style of vase; I have seen examples where the red, blue, and black were more prominent. One thing for sure is this lamp does not resemble the peach (tan) Venetian art craft lamp since it is comprised of several colors.
Okay this is a better comparison of the pattern on the two lamps. There is no doubt that one is peach and the other tan, and the paint schemes on both are considerably different in nature. In my own opinion this tan lamp should have a separate designation rather than being included along with the Peach Venetian Art Craft. The only thing similar to me is that they are both Venetian Art Craft vases.
