This is the Aladdin "Pale Yellow" Alpha Art Glass vase lamp. It has six small toes or feet on the bottom of the vase just like all the Alpha Art Glass vase lamps, but it also has one huge difference between it and the other Alpha Art Glass vase lamps. In fact it has one huge difference from any of the other vase lamps. The huge difference that really distinguishes this lamp from the others is that the pale yellow paint is fused on the outside of the vase, and not on the inside of it.
Another major difference is the painted band around the bottom of the base. On this particular lamp the painted band has a texture to the paint. It has been argued that the lamp was repainted at some time with a textured paint, but I believe that to be entirely false.
In J. W. Courter's book "Aladdin the Magic Name in Lamps," this lamp can be seen in the revised edition on page 97 figure 193. Close examination of the painted band at the bottom of the vase will support the fact that it did indeed have a textured band. The picture is comparing an Amber (tan) Alpha Art Glass vase lamp with what it refers to as "ceramic" vases and I'm not sure that the reference is correct since the lamp in the photo matches this one exactly and this one is definitely a glass vase. Also in all my years of collecting I have never seen a "ceramic" vase lamp.
Another thing is that this is not the only example of a pale yellow vase with the textured band on the foot, because I know another collector that has one just like it. The photo in Mr. Courter's book does, however, describe that the paint on the pale yellow vase lamp is fused on the outside as it is on this lamp, and it shows the textured band on the lamp as it is on this one as well.
This photo shows a closer few of the textured foot. It is showing some wear with a few of the high spots in the paint being chipped off, but the paint is entirely original!
