The 10 1/4 inch Green Alpha Art Glass vase lamp starts out as a clear glass vase which is painted solid green on the inside. The paint is then fired on to fuse it to the glass, followed by the contrasting paint being applied by hand to the base. The Alpha Art Glass vases all have six toes (feet) on the bottom of the vase.
When searching for lamps you never know what you are going to find. There is an example of this lamp with a silver band painted on the bottom of the vase. As far as I know it is a one of a kind lamp. Why does it have a silver band instead of the normal dark green band? Maybe a prototype, or the mood of the person painting the bands? I'd say the answer to that will probably never be known.
